Shamsur Rahman is one of the poets of Bangladesh. Not just one, he is the unique, main poet of this country.On 24 October 1929, Shamsur Rahman was born in a mansion in a narrow mound of the Mahout-Tuli of Dhaka city. His nick name Bachchu Shamsur Rahman has four brothers and six sisters. Shamsur Rahman's father Mokhlesur Rahman Chowdhury's wife died after leaving three sons. He then married Amena Begum, the younger brother of his first wife. Shamsur Rahman is senior in Amena Begum's 10 children.He grew up in a family that did not have literature. Shamsur Rahman's academic education began in the traditional Vidyapith Pogez School in Old Dhaka. In 1936, he was admitted to the second class of the school. While writing a class seven-class student of this school, he wrote a poem in the death of younger sister Nehar. His mother cried when he first heard of this poem in his life.After matriculation examination in 1945, Shamsur Rahman read out the stories of Rabindranath Tagore.
